The Mediterranean Italian island that the whole world envies, known for its Caribbean-like sea, its wild, hinterland panoramas, its fascinating historical cities and its nuraghe, ancient, truncated, conical stone towers,Sardinia is particularly famous for the coastal stretch of Gallura, in the north-east, which extends for 55 kilometres and takes the name of Costa Smeralda.

Developed around the city of Porto Cervo by Prince Karim Aga Khan in the 60s, the Costa Smeralda is a cocktail of sun, dream beaches, solitary coves, variously coloured seawaters, typical Mediterranean scrubland, a lively nightlife, golf courses, marinas and spectacular villas.

In this charming context, Spazio Verde created a garden for a private residence, planted with palm trees, decorative olive trees and other typical Mediterranean plant varieties.

An automatic and remotely controllable sectioned irrigation system was installed using high-quality Toro® materials, and lighting effects were created using a high energy efficiency system with salt corrosion resistant fixtures in 316 L AISI stainless steel.

Pedestrian paths were made from local stone, while teak wood was used for a terrace.

Additional elements included a salt corrosion resistant structure in AISI 316L stainless steel with a low visual impact waterproofing curtain and a solar outdoor shower with salt corrosion resistant AISI 316L stainless steel fixtures and a backdrop of treated, natural wood slats.

The result? A dream garden, like the stars: just look up and it’s always there.
