Known mostly as a playground for the rich and famous, Versilia is an approximately twenty-kilometre stretch of land in the Province of Lucca that extends between olive tree and vine cultivated hills, the slopes of the Apuan Alps and the San Rossore Regional Park.

Its coastline owes its splendour to lush vegetation and refreshing pine forests that form a backdrop to sandy shores that host refined, high-society and internationally renowned locations, such as the exclusive Forte dei Marmi, the charming Viareggio, the avant-garde Lido di Camaiore, and the elegant Marina di Pietrasanta, the perennial favourite holiday destination of Italian intellectuals, including Gabriele D’annunzio and Giacomo Puccini, to name but a few. Versilia offers a whole host of perks for fun and cultured holidays.

In this context, with golden beaches, pretty inland villages and natural parks to be discovered, Spazio Verde created a garden for a complex of holiday apartments.

Botanical choices included centuries-old Calabrian olive trees, bonsai olive trees, various fruit trees, flowering shrubs, decorative citrus fruits and large evergreen bushes.

An automatic sectioned irrigation system was created using high-quality Toro® materials, an ad-hoc remote control programmer, rainwater storage with electronic control probes and a submersible pump with inverter for maximum efficiency and energy savings.

For lighting, we opted for LED technology decorative lighting, with fixtures in AISI 316L stainless steel and IP67 waterproofing and salt corrosion protection.

As for paving, pedestrian paths and driveways were created in draining architectural concrete, laid on a specific draining substrate with Carrara marble kerbing.

At the entrance, a sculpture fountain was installed with immersion lights, with AISI 316L stainless steel fixtures and IP68 waterproofing and salt corrosion protection.

Also designed and realized were a penthouse terrace with synthetic lawn, furniture for relaxing and sunbathing and tables and chairs for dining areas, and a carport with a hot-galvanized, powder-coated steel covering structure with photovoltaic panels.

Throughout the property are large resin vases with decorative citrus fruits, balconies and terraces with boxwood spheres, and outdoor furniture for relaxation areas and the penthouse terrace.

Finally, technology was employed in remote control video surveillance and intrusion detection systems.

The result? A garden in which nature is like a book always open before the eyes of everyone.
